Economic mission to Angola

From 4 to 8 May, Erik Vandebroek, Business Development Specialist, is representing Credendo at the economic mission to Angola, with meetings and events in Luanda and Lobito. The mission brings together around 25 Belgian exporters, including DEME, Jan De Nul, Vyncke and Belgian Pork Group.

A key moment of this mission is the Angola EU Lobito Corridor Forum, which focuses on accelerating investment and partnerships in agriculture, the agro industry and transport & logistics along this strategic trade corridor. As the first open-access transcontinental rail link in Africa, the Lobito Corridor has the potential to unlock the region's enormous economic potential, increase export opportunities and promote regional integration.

During the mission, Credendo engages with Belgian exporters, the embassy of Belgium in Angola and financing institutions. We were invited to address the Belgian delegation to present our country policy on Angola and solutions. We also provided financing insights alongside multilateral and bilateral finance institutions in the breakout session Banks & development finance institutions: unlocking finance for Angola and the Lobito Corridor.
