CO2logic launches new CO2-Neutral label
CO2logic has been calculating Credendo’s annual carbon footprint since 2010. In 2019, in order to further our efforts, Credendo decided to obtain the CO2-Neutral label developed by CO2logic. This label is validated by the accredited and independent certification body Vinçotte. Ever since, we have renewed our label accreditation every year.
On 20 September, CO2logic launched a new version of its CO2-Neutral label at the Climate Leaders Forum in Brussels, in the presence of Zakia Khattabi, Federal Minister for Climate, Environment, Sustainable Development and Green Deal.
The new label aims to be more transparent, and will now include a QR code which, when scanned, will indicate the extent of the certified company's achievements: how and to what extent the company has calculated its emissions, how and to what extent it reduces its CO2 emissions, how much it offsets, etc. This level of transparency aims to prevent any greenwashing on behalf of the companies.
In addition, the CO2-Neutral label is now ranked from bronze to gold depending on the extent of the calculation and offsetting. Bronze means that the company covers scopes 1 and 2 (direct and indirect company emissions), silver corresponds to scopes 1, 2 and part of scope 3, while gold covers scopes 1, 2 and 3. As a reminder, scope 3 includes the enterprise’s entire supply chain. In Credendo’s case, as we only partially cover scope 3 (emissions linked to transactions covered are not included), we would be ranked as silver.
