The winners of the Trends Impact Awards
The third Trends Impact Awards ceremony took place at Brussels Expo on 23 October 2024. It was organised by Trends-Tendances Canal Z / Trends Kanaal Z in collaboration with PwC Belgium and Antwerp Management School. 12 companies received awards for their sustainable projects. A Credendo delegation attended the ceremony with a number of clients.
The East Flemish water technology company Bosaq made a strong impression during the gala evening. Among 80 nominees, Bosaq took home two prestigious awards: the Trends Impact Award for Resilience and the Trends Global Impact Award for SMEs. Bosaq’s decentralised water purification system, Q-Drop, aims to provide clean drinking water to communities affected by water scarcity. One of Bosaq’s key projects will supply potable water to 10,000 people across 13 remote villages in Suriname, boosting the inhabitant’s resilience, and is supported by Credendo. Suriname is particularly vulnerable to climate change due to rising sea levels and flooding. The company is running similar projects in Ghana, Botswana, Rwanda and Moldova, working closely with local governments.
Furthermore, the Belgian family-run business Out of Use, responsible for recycling Credendo’s ICT equipment, received the Trends Impact award for Circular Economy. Companies who want to give their old electronics a second life can take those devices to Out of Use to extend their lifespan. The story of the discarded appliances sounded familiar to the judges of the Trends Impact Awards.
Credendo congratulates both Bosaq and Out of Use on their positive impact on ecology, energy and social well-being.
