Credendo supports Goudel IV, a large water supply and sanitation project conducted by Denys in Niamey, Niger
Goudel IV is a large water supply and sanitation project in Niamey, Niger. It focuses on reducing severe shortages of drinking water. The project includes the construction of a water treatment plant with a capacity of 40,000 m³ per day, and aims to strengthen and expand the water distribution network.
Credendo has covered various transactions related to the Goudel project. These transactions varied from the expansion of the drinking water distribution network, and the construction of the water tower and the water treatment plant, to the construction and maintenance of water reservoirs. As part of the Goudel project, Denys carried out several phases of works, which are essential to the sustainability of the project. The works are ongoing and must be developed in accordance with the environmental and social due diligence, applicable to the development of the project. Denys is a multidisciplinary group specialised in water, energy, mobility, restoration and special techniques. The group works on complex construction and infrastructure projects in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
The contracts were concluded with the Société de Patrimoine des Eaux du Niger, which is responsible for water supply and for developing systems for water management, sewerage, wastewater treatment, pollution control, flood protection, water recreation and environmental protection. The company also operates several water reservoirs, water treatment plants, a distribution network for drinking water and wastewater treatment systems throughout the country.
The project will increase the production and distribution capacity for drinking water in Niamey, thus securing citizens' access to water. It will also contribute to improved sanitation by updating Niamey's wastewater and stormwater master plan and by modernising wastewater treatment structures.
