About Credendo – Trade Credit Insurance
Founded in 2004, Credendo – Trade Credit Insurance (formerly known as Credendo – Short-Term Non-EU Risks) specialises in highly customised underwriting for shorter-term credit risks in emerging and developing markets, principally on open account terms.
Credendo – Trade Credit Insurance covers risks both before and after delivery of the goods, and the risks of contract termination and/or non-payment of service contracts. Failure by the private debtor is also covered, i.e. protracted default, insolvency or other causes. In addition, cover is offered in case of payment failure by public sector debtors.
Apart from its main office in Brussels, Credendo – Trade Credit Insurance has branch offices in the United Kingdom, Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic and Poland to be closer to markets, clients and business.

In a press release published on 14 April 2025, S&P Global Ratings affirmed Credendo – Trade Credit Insurance rating ‘A’. The outlook is stable.
This rating reflects the positive net incomes that Credendo – Trade Credit Insurance has posted over the last years, contributing to our group’s strong results.
Following the same assessment process, Credendo – Trade Credit Insurance also received an ‘A’ insurer financial strength rating with a stable outlook.
