Credendo publishes its 2026 Export Barometer
Credendo, in collaboration with Trends/Trends-Tendances, releases the eleventh edition of the Export Barometer, offering current insights into how Belgian exporting companies perceive the international trade environment.
The results highlight a further decline in the business economic confidence, which falls to 5.5 out of 10, equalling the lows of 2020 (Covid) and 2022 (invasion of Ukraine). In an increasingly uncertain and fragmented global environment, shaped by geopolitical tensions, economic volatility and rising protectionism, companies are focusing more on nearby markets.
Despite this challenging context, the Export Barometer confirms that Belgian exporters continue to show strong adaptability and resilience. As political risks and non-payment of invoices remain among the main barriers to export, companies are taking a more prudent approach to identifying growth opportunities, supported by strong risk management.
